Obituary

Rolando Agostini, 93, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at 9:20 a.m. at his home. Born Aug. 14, 1920, in Monessen, he was the son of the late Philip and Mercedes Luciani Agostini. A resident of Rostraver Township, Mr. Agostini retired in the construction industry from the Batto Construction Co. where he was a former partner and then became self-employed. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy as a bombardier. He is survived by his wife, Jean Scurci Agostini to whom he was married 65 years, son, Roy Agostini of Belle Vernon, daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Valerian Karlski of Belle Vernon, four grandchildren, Christopher T. Agostini, Roy A. Agostini, Ryan D. Agostini, and Vincent Karlski, and five great-grandchildren, Mykala Agostini, Gianna Agostini, Asa Agostini, Kendall Agostini and Rocko Agostini. He is preceded in death by a brother, Angelo Augustine, and a sister, Betty Stancatto. Visitation was held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, with the Rev. Ron Schermerhorn of Avona Hospice Chaplain officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Parzynski Funeral Home and Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Entombment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Mon Valley Shipmates conducted their two bell service Monday evening in the funeral home.
