Roger Tonini,69,of Rostraver Township,died Friday,Aug.,18,2000,in Havencrest Nursing Center,Carroll Township. Born on Oct.3,1930,in Monessen,he was a son of the late Marco nd Maria Rossi Tonini. Mr. Tonini was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a U.S.Marine veteran,serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW,Moose and Russian clubs,all of Belle Venron,and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. Besides his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Nick Tonini. Survivors include his wife,Mary Ann Gagus Tonini;two sisters,Florence DeLuca of Murrysville and LucyRronco of Anchorage, Alaska. Friends will be received at the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME,INC.,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue,Monessen,on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m.in the funeral home,with Mr. Dennis Foor,of the Monessen congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall,officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
