ROCCO WAS A FORMER COAL MINER.
Rocco Backo,138 Kelly Ave.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,Friday night, Dec. 21,1962 at 11:10 o'clock. He was a former coal miner. Surviving are four sons, Charles of Charleroi,Michael,at home, Steve of Pricedale and Metro of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. John (Eva) Smichnick of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Harry (Anna) Ray of Charleroi,R.D.2 and Mrs. George (Helen) Konick of Monessen; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon, beginning at 7 o'clock Saturday night. Visiting hours are from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Requiem High Mass will be sung Monday,Dec. 24,at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity R.O. Church,Charleroi,by Rev. Vladimir Soroka. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
