Robert W.Carroll;68;of Lynnwood Avenue;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Dec.17;1995;at 11:15 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township;following a lengthy illness. Born Jan.6;1927;in Monongahela;he was a son of the late Grove and Marie Caldwell Carroll. He was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Also an auto mechanic;Mr.Carroll had worked in various garages throughout the Mon Valley. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen. Survivors include his wife;Erma Jean Tharp Carroll;a daughter and son-in-law;Linda and Richard Gillock of Belle Vernon;a son and daughter-in-law;Dennis and Susan Carroll of Perryopolis;two granddaughters;Cami and Christine Gillock of Belle Vernon;one grandson;Robert D.Carroll of Holidaysburg;and a brother and sister-in-law;Grove and Rosadale Carroll of Tucson;Ariz. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a sister;Esther Clark. friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Keith Dunn;pastor of the United Methodist Church of Monessen;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
