Obituary

Robert P.(Pappy-Boxy),69,of 207 State St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,May 11,1981,at 5 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Kyle was born Dec.23,1911,in West Union,W.Va.,a son of the late George and Germaine Kyle. A resident of the Belle Vernon area for over 60 years,Mr.Kyle retired in 1971 from the State Department of Transportation (PennDot). Mr.Kyle was a member of the First United Methodist Church,a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department and a member of the Western Pennsylvania Fireman's Association. He also was past president and charter member of the Belle Vernon Thorobreds,past president of the Belle Vernon Baseball Boosters and past vice president of the Belle Vernon Pony League. He was preceded in death by his wife,Isabel Smith Kyle,on Jan.2,1979. Survivors include two sons,Robert (Hootie) Kyle and Charles (Oats) Kyle,both at home,five brothers,John and George Kyle,both of Belle Vernon,Eugene Kyle of Rockford,Ill.,Charles Kyle of Williamsport,Pa.,and Ralph Kyle of Richmond,Va.,three sisters,Mrs.Grace Mustybrook of Monessen,Mrs.Elmira Steer of Belle Vernon,and Mrs.Denise Paluso of Donora. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Charles Colas of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
