Robert M.Neil of 803 Jane St.;Speers Hill;Charleroi;died at 12:30 p.m. on Friday;June 13;1980;in Jefferson Medical Center. He was 59. Mr.Neil was born Feb.24;1921;in Monessen;a son of the late John and Sadye Collart Neil. A former Belle Vernon resident;Mr.Neil had lived in Speers since 1955 and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.in 1975 due to a disability. He had been an Air Force sergeant during World War II and had been a prisoner of the Japanese for 42 months. Mr.Neil was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion;V.F.W. Post 167;Charleroi;Charleroi Elks;American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor;and F.&A.M.643;Belle Vernon. Survivors include his widow;Eva Clendaniel Neil;three brothers;Clovis Neil of Dallas;Texas;John Neil of Temple City;Calif.;and Aramus Neil of Laurel;Md.;three sisters;Mrs.Pete (Rose) Gasper of Temple City;Calif.;and Mrs.Frances Riskey and Mrs.Jesse (Sadye) Myers;both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Lee Dinsel of the First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
