Robert M.Simpson;77;of 916 Summit Ave.;Monessen;formerly of Belle Vernon;died Friday;Aug.12;1994;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mr.Simpson was born Nov.13;1916;in Belle Vernon;a son of the late Nelson and Josephine Batch Simpson. He retired from the former Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation after 39 years of service. Mr.Simpson also served as the assistant night supervisor at the Agate Treatment Center in Monessen. He was a life-long resident of the Mon Valley. Mr.Simpson was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II;having served in North Africa;Italy;France and Germany. He was a member of the Monessen Association of Retired Steelworkers. In addition to his parents;he was also preceded in death by six brothers;James;Nelson;Lawrence;Louis;Henry and Keith Simpson;and two sisters;Hazel and Ethel Chilton. Surviving are his wife;Betty J.Simpson;two sisters;Mrs.Vincent (Velma) Frazier and Mrs.Jack (Betty) Dillard;both of Belle Vernon;and one brother;H.Dale Simpson of Monessen. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Jack A.Howell officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
