Obituary

Robert M.Byron of 307 Water St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Tuesday,Aug.4,1987,at 12:05 p.m. at Mon Valley Hospital. He was 43. Mr.Byron was born Sept.6,1943,in Pittsburgh,a son of Leonard Byron of Belle Vernon and the late Lorenna Barnes Kontos. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,and the Belle Vernon Musical Society. Mr.Byron,a U.A.Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war,had lived in Belle Vernon the past 32 years. A former employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport plant for 13 years,Mr.Byron was employed by the Solstat Coal Company of Mt.Pleasant. In addition to his father,survivors include his wife,Nancy Bitonti Byron,a son,Jamie Robert Byron at home,a daughter,Melissa Ann Byron at home,three brothers,Douglas and Kenneth Byron,both of Belle Vernon,and Lawrence Byron of McDonald,Ohio,two sisters,Susan Priloh of the state of Indiana and Mrs.Barry (Wendy) Mellinger of Belle Vernon,and his mother-in-law,Rose Bitonti of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Friday,Aug.7,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian R.C.Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
