Robert L. Chew; 65; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; April 11; 2007; in Mon Valley Hospital. Born in North Charleroi on Nov. 1; 1941; he was a son of the late John Edward and Martha Ruth Peck Chew. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Chew was retired from Corning Glass and a social member of American Legion Post No. 22 in Charleroi. He is survived by three sons; Jack; Ronald and David DeSellems; all of Charleroi; three daughters and sons-in-law; Darla and Jeff Conway; Debra and Butch Byron and Diane Baker and Bill Purcell; all of Charleroi; two brothers; Ronald Thomas Chew; of Bad Axe; Mich.; and Wayne Dale Chew; of Columbus; Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years; Arlene Chew; a daughter; Dorean Purcell; and a granddaughter; Kimberly Colvin. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC.; 235 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi; where funeral services will be held Saturday; April 14; at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
