Robert L.McElfresh;64;of 736 Ross St.;Monessen;died Sunday;March 3;1996;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born Aug.14;1931;in Monessen;he was a son of Ida Weible McElfresh and the late Frank McElfresh. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen. A U.S.Army veteran of the Korean War;Mr.McElfresh was a member of VFW Post 1190 of Monessen where he had served as senior vice commander. A 1949 graduate of Monessen High School;he retired in 1992 from the American Chain and Cable Co.;Page Division;Monessen. In addition to his father;he was preceded in death by a son;Robert McElfresh. In addition to his mother;survivors include his wife;Susan Pellick McElfresh;a daughter;Ida Lynn McElfresh at home;a grandson;Rob McElfresh at home;and three brothers;Everett McElfresh of Monessen;Alan McElfresh of Donora and Carl McElfresh of Glen Mills. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.D.David Fink of the First Baptist Church of Monessen officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
