Robert Kermit Jeffrey;83;of Mapleview;died Wednesday;Oct.15;1997;in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was born June 15;1914;in Rea RD;Washington County;a son of the late Ralph and Ina Ahrns Jeffrey. Mr.Jeffrey was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi;a member of the Session;and was a deacon and elder of the church. He was also a member of the Charleroi Lodge 615;F&AM;member and past president of the Mon Valley Caraven17.Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh;Syria Temple AAONMS of Pittsburgh;Washington/Greene Co.Scottish Rite Club;B.P.O.E.Lodge 494 of Charleroi;American Legion Post 22 of Charleroi and a former member of the Charleroi Lions Club. Mr.Jeffrey was a five-year service member in the U.S.Army during World War II with the Coastal Artillery. He was employed in various Mon Valley car dealerships as a salesman;parts manager and service manager. Survivors include his wife;Betty Beazell Jeffrey;a daughter and son-in-law;Paige and James D.Patla of Florida;a son;John Mark Jeffrey of New Jersey;two brothers;Carl Jeffrey of Pittsburgh and Jay Jeffrey of Eighty-Four;one sister;Mrs.Edward (Gladys) Kleber of Pittsburgh;a sister-in-law;Mrs.Dwight Jeffrey of Burgettstown;and three grandchildren;Erin;James and Jessica Patla. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by two brothers;Warren and Dwight Jeffrey. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.;226 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi;where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.William Pennock of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masonic services will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
