Robert Carl Nelson,70, of 2 Princess Circle, Port Royal Village, Rostraver Township, died Friday, Sept. 28,1990, in the Veterans Hospital. Pittsburgh. He was born May 6, 1920, in Dubois, a son of the late Carl A. and Ester Olson Nelson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a retired employee of National Tube in McKeesport and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monessen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David D. Nelson in 1947. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Kimball Nelson, whom he married on Aug. 17,1946; four sons, Richard Nelson of Conneaut, Ohio; James R. Nelson of Donora, Dr. Kirk L. Nelson of Richmond, Va., and Timothy G. Nelson of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Robin Bradshaw of Boston, and Mrs. Sandra Granville of Littleton, Mass.; and 13 grandchildren. Private funeral services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The James C. Stump Funeral Home, Sweeney Plan, Rostraver Township, is in charge of arrangements.
