Obituary

Robert C.Ammon,80,of Belle Vernon R.D.1 (Fellsburg),died Wednesday,March 12,1997,in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan.27,1917,in Donora,he was the son of the late Cornelius and Helen Ferguson Ammon. Mr.Ammon was retired from USX,Donora,and the Westmoreland Water Authority. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a member and a past treasurer of Fells United Methodist Church. He was also past president of the Lebanon School PTA,a member of Rostraver AARP and was active in the Boy Scouts. Surviving are his wife,Vivian Winstone Ammon,a daughter,Mrs.Thomas (Sharyn Ammon) Rohaly of Cary,N.C.,three brothers,Cornelius Ammon of St.Petersburg,Fla.,the Rev.Jack Ammon of Deland,Fla.,and Donald Ammon of Orange City,Fla.,two sisters,Ruth Cochran and Virginia Myett,both of Deland,Fla.,and a granddaughter,Jill Ammon Rohaly at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the James C.Stump Funeral Home Inc.,Sweeney Plan,Rostraver Township. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev.Marlin Miller of Fells United Methodist Church and the Rev.Jack Ammon,brother of the deceased,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mr.Ammon's name to the Organ Fund of Fells United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by the James C.Stump Funeral Home,Inc.
