Obituary

Robert B.Kostella of Perryopolis R.D.2 died suddenly Sunday Jan.31,1982 at 1:50 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.,Carroll Township. He was 51. Born in Monessen June 20,1930,he was the son of John Kostella,who died June 3,1979 and Mrs.Mary Kostella of Belle Vernon R.D.3,who survives. Mr.Kostella was a Christian. He was a member of the Elks Club of Charleroi and the American Legion of Fayette City. Mr.Kostella was a veteran of the United States Army,serving during the Korean conflict. He lived in the Perryopolis R.D.2 area for 25 years and had been a former resident of the Belle Vernon and Monessen areas. Mr.Kostella became ill suddenly at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,where he was general foreman of construction. In addition to his mother,Mr.Kostella is survived by his widow,Mildred Clegg Kostella,sons,Robert W.of Belle Vernon and Mark D.at home,three brothers,John Kostella of Donora,Thomas of Jacobs Creek and Edward of Belle Vernon,R.D.3,and sister,Mrs.Mary Rita Rozik of Charleroi. Friends are being received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Monday from 7-9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.from the funeral home with the Rev.Edwin E.McElroy,minister of the little Redstone United Methodist Church,Fayette City officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
