Obituary

Richard Radock, 83, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Nicholas and Pauline Radich Radock, he was born in Belle Vernon on Feb. 4, 1921. Mr. Radock was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and VFW Post 699. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he had worked for the Pittsburgh Steel Company and taught diesel mechanics at Westmoreland County Community College for 19 years. Mr. Radock served during World War II with the U.S. Army, 80th Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his wife 58 years, Velma Stankovics Radock, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Mary Jo Radock of Erie, two sisters, Sophia Cutter and Paulette Radock, both of Belle Vernon, two brothers, Stephen Radock of Baltimore, Md., and Charles Radock of Wexford, and two grandchildren, Damian S. Radock and wife Lisa Joy, and Ariel Radock, all of Erie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Joseph Moe and Michael Radock. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 24, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tim McConville, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon American Legion and VFW will meet in the funeral home to hold services on Thursday at 7 p.m.
