Richard Matthew Bainbridge Sr.; 81; of Belle Vernon (Fairhope); died Wednesday; Dec. 1; 2004; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Robert and Catherine Sproats Bainbridge; he was born in Fairhope on March 16; 1923. A lifelong resident of Fairhope; he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and retired with 60 years of service from the Corning Glass Plant where he was a glass decorator. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law; Lester M. Bainbridge of Donegal and Richard M. Jr. and Christine Bainbridge of Fairhope; three grandchildren; Andrew Lonce; Rhonda Bainbridge and Khristina Lonce; two great-grandchildren; Margaret and Juliet. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Pauline Drost Bainbridge; in 1992; one sister; Mary Eley Nixon; and seven brothers; Matthew; George; Joseph KO and Thomas Bainbridge and William; Robert and James Eley. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; a Golden Rule Member Firm; (724-929-5300); 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be in the funeral home on Saturday; Dec. 4; at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Ronald Cyktor Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m.; led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
