Obituary

Richard Matthew Bainbridge Sr., 81, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope), died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Robert and Catherine Sproats Bainbridge, he was born in Fairhope on March 16, 1923. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and retired with 60 years of service from the Corning Glass Plant where he was a glass decorator. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lester M. Bainbridge of Donegal and Richard M. Jr. and Christine Bainbridge of Fairhope, three grandchildren, Andrew Lonce, Rhonda Bainbridge and Khristina Lonce, two great-grandchildren, Margaret and Juliet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Drost Bainbridge, in 1992, one sister, Mary Eley Nixon, and seven brothers, Matthew, George, Joseph KO and Thomas Bainbridge and William, Robert and James Eley. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be in the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Ronald Cyktor Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m., led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
