Richard J. Evans, 84, of Belle Vernon, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 6:30 a.m. in Southwestern Nursing Center, West Mifflin. Born August 23, 1923, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Edna Costella Evans. He was a resident of Belle Vernon, a member of First Christian Church of Belle Vernon, and he was retired from the Belle Vernon Water Authority. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Edith Evans, of Elrama; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and William Brounce, of North Charleroi, and Marilyn and Gene Sethman, of Eldora; one daughter-in-law, Genevieve Evans, of Speers; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth and George Macknew, of Maryland, and Graycee Barley, of York; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Maley Evans; one son, Ronald Lee Evans Sr.; and three brothers, Frederick A. Evans, Raymond Evans and Roy Evans. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Saturday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald A. Bowers of First Christian Church of Belle Vernon officiating.
