Richard H.Hamer;1359 Fayette Ave.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;April 9;1981 in the Brownsville General Hospital. He was 86. Born Jan.21;1895 in Bridgeville;he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Hopkins Hamer. Mr.Hamer had lived in Fairhope for over 60 years. Mr.Hamer retired in 1960 as an inspector in the tube division at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel;Allenport plant. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church. Mr.Hamer was preceded in death by his wife;Honor Breakwell Hamer on Dec.23;1969. Survivors include three sons;R.Allen Hamer and John (Jack) I.Hamer;both of Belle Vernon;and Willard E.Hamer of Twilight;a daughter;Mrs.Hugh (Emogene) Dunn of Belle Vernon; a brother;Samuel Hamer of Fayette City;a sister;Mrs.Margaret Driscoll of Fayette City;11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Mary S.Howard;pastor of the Marion Presbyterian Church;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
