Obituary

Richard E. Mollard, 85, of Green Valley, Ariz., died Sunday, July 22, 2012. Born Jan. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Mary Kiefer Mollard. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, participating in the Battle of Midway and Okinawa. He worked in electronics for the FAA in Longmont, Colo., retiring in 1992. Richard loved golf and traveling with his wife, usually to national parks, collecting western art and American Indian pottery. He was a humanitarian, donating to the Humane Society and other animal rights organizations. He is survived by a brother, Earl Mollard of Washington Twp., and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Renaud Mollard, two sisters, Shirley Halinka-Fugo and Norma Hussar, and two brothers, Fred Mollard and Herbert Mollard. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Belle Vernon Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fayette City American Legion Post 484.
