Richard E. Mollard; 85; of Green Valley; Ariz.; died Sunday; July 22; 2012. Born Jan. 9; 1927; he was the son of the late Emanuel and Mary Kiefer Mollard. He was a veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Navy; participating in the Battle of Midway and Okinawa. He worked in electronics for the FAA in Longmont; Colo.; retiring in 1992. Richard loved golf and traveling with his wife; usually to national parks; collecting western art and American Indian pottery. He was a humanitarian; donating to the Humane Society and other animal rights organizations. He is survived by a brother; Earl Mollard of Washington Twp.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; Jean Renaud Mollard; two sisters; Shirley Halinka-Fugo and Norma Hussar; and two brothers; Fred Mollard and Herbert Mollard. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday; Sept. 22; 2012; at Belle Vernon Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fayette City American Legion Post 484.
