Richard Durr of Fayette City R.D.1 (Brownstown) died Sunday;June 13;1982;at 10:30 a.m.in Presbyterian University Hospital;Pittsburgh;following a lengthy illness. He was 51. Mr.Durr was born April 26;1931 in Brownsville;a son of the late Carl and Pauline McKnight Durr. He was employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr.Durr was a U.S.Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the First Baptist Church;Brownsville;Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484;Fayette City;Fayette City Fire Company and the Fayette County Firemen’s Association. Survivors include his widow;Betty Hess Durr;two daughters;Mrs.Charles (Shelly) Biksey and Mrs.Raymond (Wendy) Zehir;both of Fayette City;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;from 7 to 9 p.m.Monday;2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday and until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday;the time of service in the funeral home. The Rev.Robert Higginbotham of the Allison Park United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. F.C.V.F.C.will hold services in the funeral home Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Howard W.McCrory funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
