Richard D.Vaughen;71;of Charleroi;died Thursday Sept.14;1995;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mr.Vaughen was born Feb.9;1924;in Monessen;a son of the late Lee and Elma Snyder Vaughen. He was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Vaughen was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 167;Charleroi. Mr.Vaughen was a Catholic by faith. Surviving are his wife;Donna Pascoe Vaughen;a daughter and son-in-law;Amy A. and Kurt Conaway of Pasadena;Md.;and one sister;Mrs.James (Betty) Fillingham of Charleroi. A brother;William Vaughen;is deceased. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.;226 Fallowfield Ave.;Charleroi. A Blessing Service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home;with the Rev.Richard Viaconti of St.Mary Episcopal Church;Charleroi;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
