Obituary

Richard C. Behanna Sr., 70, of 114 Allen Ave., Belle Vernon, died Thursday, Dec. 12,1991 at 3:15 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township, He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Donora, a son of the late Noah and Cecelia Smith Behanna. A resident of the Belle Vernon area for more than 50 years, he was a retired pipefitter from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Monessen plant. Mr. Behanna was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Noah and James Behanna, and one sister, Violet Bachisn. Survivors include his wife, Delores Palfrey Behanna, one son, Richard C. Behanna Jr. of Miami, Fla., one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Dianne) Steiner of Belle Vernon R.D., one sister, Virginia Clark of Clearwater, Fla., and four grandchildren, Scott and Todd Behanna, Duane Shoman and Dennis Steiner Jr., all of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.with Elder Thomas Hamer of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,Fayette City,in charge. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
