Obituary

Richard A. Tony Brightwell, 69, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at 7:20 a.m. in Donnell House, Washington. Born Sept. 22, 1940, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Dick and Elizabeth Anthony Brightwell. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Brightwell was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, and was a retired letter carrier from U.S. Postal Service at the Belle Vernon Post Office. He had served with the U.S. National Guard Reserves, was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department, served as board member of the Washington County Postal Federal Credit Union, was a member of numerous antique car clubs and the Train Collectors Association (TCA). He is survived by his wife, Pamela Costella Brightwell, to whom he was married 46 years, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karin Brightwell, of Eighty Four, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Nelson, of Eighty Four, mother-in-law, Hazel M. Costella, of Belle Vernon, two grandchildren, Kassidy and Colton Brightwell, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Krett. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. Prayer service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Church will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Anthony Brightwell Tuesday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m. and the North Belle Vernon Fire Department will conduct services Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., both in the funeral home.
