Richard A.Parente Sr.;71;of 1133 Linn Dr.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;May 16;1999;in Mon Valley Hospital. Mr.Parente was born in Monessen on Sept.24;1927;a son of the late Anthony and Theresa Guerra Parente. Mr.Parente was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and owned and operated Parente TV Sales and Service on Broad Avenue in Belle Vernon for 49 years. A U.S.Marine veteran;he had resided in Belle Vernon for the past 38 years and was formerly of Monessen. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a brother;Albert Parente. Survivors include his wife;Norma Lazzari Parente;with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 7;1999;a son;Rick A.Parente Jr.of Belle Vernon;a daughter;Leslie Parente at home;and two grandchildren;Jessica and Jeffrey Parente. Friends wll be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.with the Rev.Donald Trexler;parochial vicar of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
