Obituary

Rhuel A.Lunt,69,of 1100 Brown St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Feb.3,1983,at 7:22 p.m. in Montefiore Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 69. Mr.Lunt was born Jan.28,1914,in Barnsburg,Pa.,a son of the late Arthur and Samantha Wells Lunt. A member of the Naomi Athletic Club,he spent most of his life in the Belle Vernon area. Mr. Lunt retired in 1963 from Baning No.1,where he had worked as a miner. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Gertrude,on April 16,1975,and a son,Arthur,in 1976. Survivors include four sons,Donald,Dennis and John Dale,all of Belle Vernon,and William of Phoenix,Ariz.,six daughters,Mrs.Carey (Vivian) Hoover of Dunlevy,Mrs.Dale (Sarah) Byrne and Mrs.Robert (Darlene) Smalley,both of California,Pa.,Mrs.Homer (Ellen) Smith of Webster,Mrs.Frank (Suzanne) Duda of Fayette City and Mrs.Warren (Elaine) Ambler,with whom he made his home,two brothers,James Smith of Charleroi and Earl Lunt of Denbo,four sisters,Mrs.Vivian Bachenski,Mrs.Vernice Howard and Mrs.Helen Jadik,all of Monessen,and Mrs.Anna Mae Baumgardner of Denbo,37 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,where services will be held on Sunday,Feb.6,at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Kenneth Neiderhiser,pastor of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,in in charge of arrangements.
