Mr.Mathieu was born March 15;1950;in North Charleroi;a son of the late Maurice and Angeline Canastrale Mathieu. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation;working as an equipment operator III out of the Greensburg office. He was a member of St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church;Monessen. Survivors include his wife;Leona Turek Mathieu;four children;Heather;Rene Jr.;Alena and Alphonse;two brothers;Maurice of York Haven and Donald of CHarleroi;many nieces;nephews;great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Cajetan Church;Monessen;with Monsignor P.Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
