Redmond Holmes of 710 Ninth St.;Monessen;died Monday;May 19;1980;at 12:55 p.m. in Westmoreland Manor;Greensburg. Mrs. Holmes was 90. Born July 15;1889;in Mobile;Ala.;she was a daughter of the late John and Callie Jones. She had lived in the Monessen area for the past 59 years. Mrs.Holmes was a member of Union Baptist Church;Monessen;and its Missionary Society. A Sunday School teacher;she was a leader of the Prayer Band;the Circle of Ruth;and was a Mother of the Church. She is survived by two sons;Milfred Holmes;and Harry W.Holmes;both of Monessen;two daughters;Josephine Bell and Helen Burrell;both of New York City;N.Y.;eight grandchildren;five great-grandchildren;one great-nephew;and seven great-great-grandnieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church;Monessen;with the Rev.A.Price and the Rev.G.E.Mason co-officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
