Raymond Watkins of 414 May St.,Belle Vernon,was dead on arrival Tuesday,July 13,1982 at 4:55 p.m. at Mon Valley Hospital. He was 77. Mr. Watkins was born March 17,1905,in West Newton,a son of the late Albert and Fannie Dazy Watkins. He was retired from Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr. Watkins was a member of Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,where he formerly served as treasurer,chairman of the building fund and trustee. He also was a member of Monessen Lodge 79,F.& A.M.Survivors include his widow,Ada Watkins;two daughters,Mrs.Urella Chapman of Teaneck,N.J.,and Mrs. Leon (Marie) Johnson of Monessen;a brother,Robert Watkins of Belle Vernon;two sisters,Margaret and Kathryn Watkins,both of Belle Vernon,five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Luther Wormack will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E. Law Jr. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
