A Belle vernon man died Thursday,April 4,1968 of an apparent heart attack shortly after his car was involved in a traffic accident on Route 906 near Monessen. Raymond Risky,62,of 419 Market St.,was dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 5 p.m. State Police reported that Mr.Riskey's car hit the rear of a truck operated by Glenn Kerns,61,of Speers Hill,Charleroi. The truck ws stopped behind a school bus which was discharging passengers. The bus was not involved in the mishap. State Police estimated damage to the car at $400 and to the truck at $200. Born in Belle Vernon on March 21, 1906, Mr. Riskey was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Kuhn Riskey. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the First Methodist Church of Belle Vernon, North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept, Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 390 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 167, both of Charleroi. Mr. Riskey was retired from the electrical department of the Allenport plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Surviving are his widow, Frances, and two daughters, Eilenne and Joanne, all of Belle Vernon,and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Catherine) Hotchkiss of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. on April 6, Service there Monday,April 8,at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev. Richard B. Snyder,pastor of Belle Vernon's First Methodist Church,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director.
