Raymond R.Latta;46;of Monessen;died Monday;Sept.18;1989;in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh;following an illness of 13 days. He was born in Fairhope on Nov.25;1942;a son of Lilas Rohland Latta Turcaso of Monessen and George Latta of Warren;Ohio. Mr.Latta was a graduate of Monessen High School Class of 1962 and had been employed at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a crane operator. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen;the Monessen Ambulance Service;where he was a registered E.M.T. and also on the board of directors. He was also a member of the Monessen Volunteer Fire Department Number Two and the Hilltop Fireman’s Club. In addition to his parents;he is survived by two sisters;Mrs.John E.(Ruthann) Kerestesi of Monessen and Kim Miller of Warren;Ohio;two brothers;George T.Latta of Delaware City;Del.;and Gregory Latta of Warren;Ohio;nieces and nephews;John and Joshua;Angel and Ellen and Charles;Stephanie and Matthew;great-niece;Amber Marie;and aunts;uncles and cousins. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.William O.Anderson;officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Contributions ca be made through the funeral home to the Monessen Ambulance or Fire Department. The Rhome Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
