Obituary

Raymond F. Lehr, 79, of North Charleroi, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 at his home after a lingering illness. He was born May 21, 1925 in Roscoe, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Klein Lehr. He was Methodist by faith, served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a lab technician for the Water Authority. Survivors include his wife, Doris Lehr of North Charleroi, three children, Carl Lehr and wife Susan of Charleroi, Cathy Myers and husband Clyde of North Charleroi and Chris Lehr and wife Diane of Spruce Creek, four grandchildren, Tara Ames, Dana Polonoli and husband Rusty, and Justin and Jarod Lehr, one great-granddaughter, Hayley Ames, and one brother, Neil Lehr of Roscoe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Lehr, and two sisters, Caroline Clutter and Freda Fritzi Furlong. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Terry Teluch of Roscoe United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
