Raymond E.Shetterly Sr.of 4399 Richmond Ave.;Newton Falls;Ohio;died Monday;June 8;1981;at 5:08 a.m.in Cleveland (Ohio) Clinic. He was 69. Mr.Shetterly was born Sept.18;1911;in West Brownsville;a son of the late Charles W.and Jennie Gant Shetterly. He retired in 1973 as a conductor for Monessen Southwestern Railway at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.after 43 years of service. He had served from 1947 to 1956 as general chairman of the Railroad Workers’ Local 447. Mr.Shetterly was a Methodist by faith. He was preceded in death by a son;Raymond G.Shetterly;in 1933. Survivors include his widow;Bertha Walker Shetterly;three sons;Raymond E.Shetterly Jr.of Monessen;Duncan Shetterly of Newton Falls;Ohio;and Wilbert L.Shetterly of Buena Vista;Calif;;two daughters;Mrs.Barton (Laverne) Meyer of Lucas;Ohio;and Mrs.Carl (Elverda) Radek of West Newton;15 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.in the funeral home;with the Rev.Lee F.Dinsel of First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
