Raymond A. Cerniga; 52; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Tuesday; Nov. 4; 2008; in Select Specialty Hospital of McKeesport. Born July 28; 1956; in McKeesport; he was the son of Anna (Vlad) Cerniga; of North Huntingdon Township; and the late Joseph Cerniga. A resident of Rostraver Township for the past 20 years; Mr. Cerniga was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. He was employed as a general sales manager at C. Harper Autoplex in Belle Vernon; and he also worked part time at Latorre’s Auto Sales. Mr. Cerniga was a veteran of the Vietnam War; having served with the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his mother; he is survived by his wife of 29 years; Monica (DiBattista) Cerniga; a daughter; Deidre Cerniga; of Pittsburgh; a son Kristofer Cerniga; at home; one brother and sister-in- law; Bruce P. and Anna Cerniga; of Florida; two sisters and brothers-in- law; Paula and Dennis Juett and Collette and George Heid; all from the state of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by one brother; Joseph Cerniga. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A prayer service will be held Friday; Nov. 7; at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas; pastor; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Raymond Cerniga on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
