Obituary

Ralph G.Chapman Sr.,47,of 343 Union Place,Akron,Ohio,died Saturday at 2:15 p.m. in Akron City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr.Chapman worked as an assembler for William Engineers in Akron. He was a veteran of World War II,having served with the United States Army. Mr.Chapman was born at Blue,W.Va.,March 15,1919. Surviving are his widow,Geraldine (Rumbaugh) Chapman,three sons,Ralph G.Jr.of Baltimore,Robert and James at home,two daughters,Mrs.Phyllis Arbgaste in the state of California and Norma at home,his father,William of Paden City,W.Va.,his mother,Mrs.Hazel Hunsucker of Akron,three brothers,Earl of Sioux City,Iowa,Lawrence of Adrian,Mich.,and Harold of Akron. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City where a service will take place Tuesday,July 12,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.Robert L.Trimble Sr.,pastor of Fayette City's Methodist Church,in charge. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery with full military rites at graveside,conducted by Brightwell Daughtery Post 484,American Legion,Fayette City.Howard W.McCrory,funeral director.
