Purvey Dupree,88,of the Belle Vernon Apartments,died Wednesday,Aug. 25,1976 at 10:30 p.m. at his residence. He was born July 19,1888,in Dublin,Ga.,and was a member of the First Christian Church of Wick Haven and a retired coal miner. Surviving are his widow,Aggie, five sons, David of Youngstown,Ohio,Sylvester and Harding,both of Arnold City,and Robert and Lloyd,both of Brooklyn;four daughters,Mrs. Cora Thrasher,Mrs. Rosa McCarthy,Mrs. Mary L. Ross and Mrs. Geneva Calloway,all of Arnold City; 28 grandchildren;27 great-grandchildren,and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Jones of Miami,Fla. A son,Milton,preceded him in death in 1963. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City,Friday,Aug. 27 after 7 p.m.,and from 11 a.m. t 1 p.m.,the time of the service Saturday,Aug. 28,in the First Christian Church of Wick Haven,with the Rev. Bishop F.M. Thomas of Pittsburgh,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
