Phyllis R.Beckinger of 116 Taylor Run Road;Monongahela;died Tuesday;Dec.6;1994;in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born in Belle Vernon;a daughter of the late Philip ad Clara Strenske Muir. Mrs.Beckinger was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Donora. She was a member of the Pastor/Parish Relations Committee and a member of the administrative board and trustees of the church. Additionally;she was a past president of the Junior Ruth Class and the W.S.C.S.of the church. She had belonged to Donora Chapter 94 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs.Beckinger was a charter member of the Donora Forecast Club. She was a member of the Public School Employees Association and had taught school in the Intermediate Unit of Westmoreland County. She was active in the Meals on Wheels program in Monessen and was a member of the Rostraver Township AARP 3408. She had lived in Carroll Township for the last 38 years. Surviving are her husband;Keith Beckinger;with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage Nov.29;1994;two sons;Robert Beckinger of Donora and Terry and his wife Deborah Beckinger of Michigan City;Ind.;one sister;Elsie Mascara of Ft.Lauderdale;Fla.;and three grandchildren;Brian and Craig Beckinger and Amanda Beckinger. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by a brother;William Muir;and two sisters;Elizabeth Muir and Hilda Sale. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Dr.Rev.Joel Wilcher;pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Donora;officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. If friends wish;donations may be made to the Washingtron County Cancer Society. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
