Filomena "Phyllis" Giglietti-Denitti Fall, 93, of Monessen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. She was born in Monessen on Oct. 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Matteo Giglietti-Denitti and the late Antonia Abatantuono Giglietti-Denitti. As a child, Phyllis and her family relocated from Monessen to Mattinata, Italy, where they resided from 1922 until returning to reside in the Smithton area in 1927. Phyllis was one of 13 children born to Matteo and Antonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Francis Fall; three sisters, Teresa Kashura, Gloria Labrasca, and Laura Denitti; four brothers, Paul who was killed in combat at Lesquern, France on Aug. 10, 1944; Lewis who died in infancy, Pete and Michael Denitti; and a grandson, Nathan Jackson. She is survived by a son, Frank J. "Sonny" (Deborah) Steck of Smock; five daughters, Sandra (Jack) Danilchak of Smithton, Donna Thorpe of Monessen, Paula Fink of Monessen, Whitney Cole, with whom she made her home, Susan (Jimmy) Fall-Thomas of Belle Vernon; four sisters, Josephine (Ralph) Baluch of Perryopolis, Marie Jane (Mike) Hazy of Belle Vernon, Joanne (Bob) Zynosky of Monessen, Mary Deborah Wisyanski of Monessen; a brother, Matthew (Marge) Denitti of Perryopolis; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Denitti of Smithton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Conrad Auel officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Phyllis's name to the Salvation Army, 308 Schoonmaker Ave., Monessen, PA 15062.
