Phyllis Tallerico Wasko.81,of Belle Vernon,died, Sept.2,1997,at 6;40 P.M. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Aug. 16,1916 in North Belle Vernon, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Mauro Tallerico. Mrs. Wasko was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon area,where she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and Women of Moose,Belle Vernon Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 209. Survivors include her daughter,Mrs. Ed (Cindy) Rach of Perryopolis;one grandson;one brother,Frank Tallerico of Mount Pleasant;and a sister, Elizabeth Kinik of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bernard Wasko on July 30,1991; a siser, Lena Tora,a brother,John Tallerico and a son, Raymond Wasko in 1964. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. E. George Saletrik,parochial vicar,as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
