Phillip H.Carlson of 668 Reed Ave.;Monessen;died Monday;April 8;1985;at Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Twp. He was 79. Born in Sweden;Sept.19;1905;he was a son of the late Martin and Selma Stroburg Carlson. Mr.Carlson was a member of St.Mary’s Episcopal Church of Charleroi. He was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in the battery shop until his retirement in 1973. Surviving are his wife of 51 years;Hazel Horan Carlson;a daughter;Mrs.Beverly Seroka of Monessen;a son and daughter-in-law;Phillip and Rita Carlson of Roswell;New Mexico;four grandchildren;Donald and Joseph Seroka and Phillip and Kari Lynn Carlson;one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Mr.Carlson was preceded in death by three brothers;Emil;George and Gus. Friends are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday;2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until 10 a.m. Thursday at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Boulevard;Monessen. Requiem mass will follow Thursday at 11 a.m. at St.Mary’s Episcopal Church of Charleroi with Father Keith Ackerman;as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
