Philip Evans,70,formerly of Monessen, but late of South Greensburg,died Sundy,May 22,1983,at 3 a.m. Mr. Evans was born in Pittsburgh on March 26,1913,a son of the late Charles and Julia Parson Evans. He resided in Monessen most of his life and was employed at the West Elizabeth Lumber Co.until retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church,Monessen,and the Thomas McKee Post 28 of Monessen. He is survived by four brothers, Albert of Belle Vernon,Howard and Harold,both of Monessen and Frank of New Eagle. Friends will be received at the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m.,with the Rev. Earl M. Lahman officiating. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of the arrangements.
