Obituary

Philip C. Agostini of 1310 Graham Ave.,Monessen died Friday,June 9,1978 at 8:15 p.m. in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital,where he had been admitted Wednesday.  He was 86.    Mr. Agostini was born in Italy and had spent most of his life in Monessen.  He was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.as a watchman until 12 years ago,when he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife,Mercedes Luciani Agostini on Jan.15,1977. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Luigi Agostini,Francisco Agostini and Dario Agostini,and two sisters, Pasqualini Moretti and Candida Agostini.  Mr. Agostini was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen, United Steelworkers of America in Monessen,the American Federation of Human Rights in Wheeling,W.Va.,and the NIPA club of Monessen.  He is survived by one daughter,Mrs. Ned (Betty) Stancato of Monessen;two sons,Roy Agostini of Belle Vernon and Angelo Agostini of Anaheim,Calif.;five grandchildren;five great-grandchildren,and one sister,Mrs. Giovanna Leali in Italy.  Friends will be received Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.,with the Rev. Hartzell A. Michael,pastor of Lynnwood Lutheran Church,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to either St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Heart Fund.
