Obituary

Phillip Shepler,a pioneer resident and former business man,died at his home on Schoonmaker avenue Wednesday morning,December 29,1909 at 4 o'clock of tuberculosis after an illness that has rendered him an invalid for about a year. The deceased came to Monessen from Belle Vernon and was a member of the firm of of Shepler and Venneri,finally being forced to sell his share of the meat market on Schoonmaker avenue to his partner. He leaves his widow and one daughter,Mellie,aged about 12 years,also several brothers and sisters.  The funeral will occur on Friday at 1:30 at the residence.  Rev. G.E. Brenneman,of the Methodist Church will officiate,assisted by Rev. F.H.Howard.  The remains will be taken to Belle Vernon for interment.
