Peter R. Cornell,69,former Ford dealer in Belle Vernon for many years, died Sunday,Feb. 24,1963 at 12:15 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital,Pittsburgh. His residence was 1008 Henry St.,Belle Vernon. Mr. Cornell was a veteran of World War I and was a past commander of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Surviving are his widow, Lillian Lagler Cornell; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Myra) Dohan of Belle Vernon; a son, Edwin of Belle Vernon; two brothers, Charles of Belle Vernon and Ernest of Castle Shannon; threee sisters, Mrs. Fritz (Emma) Nightman of Smithton,Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Nigra of the state of California and Mrs. Joseph (Edith) Thot of Belle Vernon and three grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home,Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday,Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home,with Rev. Earl Lighthall, pastor of First Methodist Church,Belle Vernon, officiatiing. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
