Obituary

Peter Petros,45,of 109 Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen,died unexpectedly on Thursday,March 9,1972,in Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church,Charleroi. Born Aug.3,1926,in Gillespie,Mr. Petros was a veteran of Navy service in World War II and was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp's Monessen Plant. He was a member of Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church,Charleroi,where he served as an usher,and of the Charleroi Knights of Columbus. His widow,Mrs.Katherine Partezana Petros,survives along with two sons,Peter Allen and Michael,at home,three daughters,Bernadette,Mrs.Arthur (Sharon) Lunt and Patti,at home,one grandchild,two brothers,Michael Petros of Charleroi and John Petros of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Mary Karbowsky of Monessen and Irene Petros of Pittsburgh,and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the John L.Kravets Funeral Home,Schoonmaker Ave.,Monessen,where a Parastas service will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home Monday,March 13,1972,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass at 10 a.m.in Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church,Charleroi,celebrated by the Rev.Andrew Chura,pastor. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. John L.Kravets,funeral director.
