He was born June 13; 1924 in Gillespie; Washington Twp;Pa.. Son of the late George Bednar and the late Anna Mitillac Bednar. He was member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church; Charleroi; Pa. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Brightwell-Daughtery Post 484 American Legion; Fayette City; Pa. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Deborah Gregan and husband Daniel of Fayette City; Carrie Murt and husband William of Belle Vernon; Son; Greg Bednar and wife Angie of Grindstone; 6 Grandchildren; Amanda Gregan; Bria Burge and husband James; Danielle Gregan; Sean Bednar; Tanner and Casey Murt; Great-Grandchild; Gregan Burge. Also survived by his companion and care giver Elizabeth Babich Bednar of Fayette City.
