Obituary

Peter Honchalk Sr.,82,of 215 Plainview St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday, July 27,1961 at 5:45 o'clock in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Born in Poland,June 29,1879,Mr. Honchalk was a member of Holy Trinity R.O. Church,Charleroi.  He was a disabled United Mine worker,having been injured at the Pricedale mine of Pittsburgh Coal Co.,in 1932.  Mr. Honchalk resided in Belle Vernon for 51 years. He is survived by his widow, Mary Furtak Honchalk;two sons, Martin M. of Cleveland,Ohio and Peter Paul Jr. of Belle Vernon;three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Koshka of Pittsburgh,Mrs. John (Jennie) Hostetler of Charleroi and Mrs. Paul (Ann) Lucas of Belle Vernon; a brother, Frank of Aliquippa,16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where Parastas services will be held Friday,July 28,at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday,July 29,at 9 a.m. with Divine Liturgy and Requiem Services to follow from Holy Trinity R.C.Church, Charleroi.  The Rev. Vladimir Soroka will officiate.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
