Obituary

Peter C. Scrip of Bow Street,Stockdale,died Thursday,Aug. 16,1984,in the Mon Valley Hospital. Mayor of Stockdale the past 20 years,he was 60. Mr. Scrip was born July 12,1924,in Allenport,a son of the late Michael and Malunka Paraschak Scrip. He was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport Plant. A U.S. Army veteran of Word War II,he ws a member of the Charleroi Elks and the Monessen Elks.  He was also a member of Roscoe Moose Lodge 338,Roscoe Legion and Charleroi VFW Post 167. Mr. Scrip was founder of the Five-Town Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Stockdale Sokol Club,the Roscoe Slovak Club and the Roscoe Rod and Gun Club. In addiiton to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Scrip. Survivors include his wife, Mildred L. Schaefer Scrip;two daughters,Mrs. John (Sharon) Blacka of Reisterstown,Md. and Mrs. Richie (Marcy) Walker of Elco;four brothers,John and Frank Scrip,both of Roscoe,Mike Scrip of Elco and Harry Scrip of Dunlevy; onw sister,Mary Arthur of Roscoe and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home,Inc.,1008 Furlong Ave.  A brief service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday,Aug. 18,at 9:15 a.m.,followed by additional services at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Orthodox Chruch,Charleroi,with the Very Rev. Igor Soroka officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  A Parastas service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A Legion service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.  Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes. Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
