Obituary

Pershing G.Parrish of 3104 Avalon St.,Pittsburgh,a former resident of Donora,died Thursday,Jan.8,1981,at 7:35 p.m.in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh. Mr.Parrish was 62. He was born June 29,1918,in Donora,a son of the late Rev.Major and Carrie Wright Parrish. He was a retired employee of Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh. A graduate of Donora High School with the Class of 1938,Mr.Parrish was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Post 695 of the American Legion in Donora and the Monongahela Valley Lodge 208 of the IBPOE of W. Mr.Parrish is survived by his wife,Mrs.Crystal Parrish of Detroit,Mich.,his step-mother,Mrs.Sophie Parrish of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.Susan Dyer of Detroit,Mich.and Sgt.Doreen E.Parrish with the U.S.Air Force in Vietnam,two brothers,Herbert Parrish of Pittsburgh and James Locker of New York,three sisters,Mrs.C.Dolores Parrish Lane of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Ophelia Dickerson of Monessen,and Joan Locker in the state of California,three grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Friends will be received at the Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Home,1324 Meldon Ave.,Donora,from 7 to 9 p.m.Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.at the funeral home,with the Rev.J.O. Neal officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Percy E.Law Jr.Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
