Obituary

Pearl M. Chadwick, 84, of Donora, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 in Life Care Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mrs. Chadwick was born in Webster on June 4, 1920, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Brooks Evans. She worked for many years at the former Sickels Store in Donora. Mrs. Chadwick was a member of the former United Methodist Church in Donora, the Junior Ruth Circle of the church, the Church Ladies Bowling League, and a Girl Scout leader. In later years, Mrs. Chadwick attended Emanuel Baptist Church in Donora. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Bud Chadwick, in 1961, two infant sisters, and four brothers, George, Robert, Wilfred and Howard Hap Evans. She is survived by her daughter, Kathi Pollock and husband Russell of Zanesville, Ohio, one son, Ronald W. Chadwick and wife Kathie of Donora, three grandchildren, Renee L. Slabicki and husband Tony, Ronald and Nuong Chadwick, and Scott and Guinevere Chadwick, six great-grandchildren, Danny, Nathan, Sydina, Autumn, Garreth and Jasmin Chadwick, three brothers, Foster and Clyde Evans both of Marienville and Russell Evans of Lillington, N.C., three sisters, Mildred VanKirk of Donora, Ruth Estelle of Levittown, and Mrs. Mike (Betty) Yaroscak of Brentwood. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES A. RABE FUNERAL HOME INC., 701 Thompson Ave., Donora, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Hugh Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
