Obituary

Pearl Hamer Stewart, 93, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 5:59 p.m. in her home. Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thora Trew Hamer. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Marion Presbyterian Church and the church missionary society. She was retired from the intermediate unit at California University and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by a son, Richard Alan Stewart, of Washington Township, granddaughter, Jamie L. and Brett Kerns, of Belle Vernon, grandson, Lee Stewart, of Washington Township, great-granddaughter, Lily Kerns, sister, Elane Laszewski, of Belle Vernon, two nephews, Brian and Janet Laszewski and Lee and Leah Laszewski, and two great-nieces, Anna and Daniel Byrne and Susan Laszewski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Richard Stewart, a daughter-in-law, Janice Stewart, and brother, James Tilden. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. Services will be held Monday, March 21, at the funeral home at 10 a.m. with Pastor Robert C. Prinkey, of Marion Presbyterian Church of Fairhope, officiating.
